The All-New 2016 GMC Truck Lineup

Performance

The GMC Canyon comes in a choice of three engine types. The base 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine makes 200 horsepower and 191 pound-feet of torque, the 3.6-liter V6 engine makes 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque and the 2.8-liter four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine makes 181 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. The Duramax diesel engine achieves an EPA 31 miles per gallon on the highway, which is the best fuel economy available in any truck.

The GMC Sierra All Terrain X comes with a 5.3-liter V8 engine that makes 365 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. Besides being able to deliver remarkable power, the All Terrain X boasts GMC’s Z71 Off-Road Suspension, which is a package that includes off-road Rancho dampers, a rugged underbody shield and an advanced hill descent system that utilizes the anti-lock brakes to provide an even and controlled ride while driving down steep hills. The All Terrain X comes standard with four-wheel drive and an Eaton rear differential that automatically sends power to all wheels in order to provide optimal traction in all weather conditions.

With a maximum towing capacity of 14,500 pounds and a maximum payload of 3,534 pounds, the new GMC Sierra 2500HD is one of the most powerful trucks on the road. This truck is available with both a 6.0-liter V8 engine that makes 360 horsepower and an impressive 380 pound-feet of torque and a 6.6-liter diesel V8 makes 397 horsepower and an incredible 765 pound-feet of torque. The improved Allison 1000 transmission is designed to tame the high torque capability of the 6.6-liter Duramax engine.

Styling

The Canyon was designed to be both efficient and maneuverable. The exterior styling makes a powerful and lasting impression with its sculpted frame and unique attention to detail. The LED-signature front lights, chrome grille and chrome mirror caps and door handles give the Canyon a flashy appearance. On the interior, the Canyon is finely crafted with premium materials a numerous amenities. The comfortable and quiet cab has been redesigned with aluminum trim, soft-touch materials, stain-resistant seating and numerous driver-centric features.

The bold exterior of the Sierra All Terrain X boasts glossy black 18-inch wheels over rugged Goodyear Duratrac tires. The muscular styling is further characterized by its black chrome grille, LED running lights and handy black sport steps. For a truck, this GMC has an unexpectedly upscale interior. The cab is filled with first-class materials, real aluminum trim highlights and tailored surfaces. A heated leather steering wheel and heated seats keep occupants warm during the cold winter months. This truck was also designed with a valved exhaust system, robust door seals and a high-tech noise cancellation system to keep road noise from penetrating the cabin.
